Managing Hauraki District Council’s Spatial

In August 2015 emtel and Hauraki District Council entered into a partnership where emtel manages the council’s GIS.  Ethan has worked in and out of Hauraki for 6 years now so knowing their systems and processes has been valuable to this partnership.  emtel continues to transform their GIS for both internal and now external users ensuring that current accurate data is readily available to all.

As well as managing their GIS, Ethan also plays a role in the Web Team who are currently building an intuitive and innovative Intranet.

This project based relationship has been managed by Matthew Radford, Information Services Manager, at Hauraki DC, who sets projects for Ethan to complete in agreed time frames.  So far they have completed 20 projects in nearly 18 months ranging from spatial data migration from a file system into SQL Server Spatial, to rolling out the council’s first public web mapping viewer, and working with Civil Defense ensuring that mapping services are at the ready when disaster strikes.
